EU AI Act Compliant
PulseBoard is fully compliant with the European Union's AI Act, ensuring our AI-driven wellbeing tools meet the highest standards of transparency, safety, and human oversight.
What is the EU AI Act?
The EU AI Act is the world's first comprehensive regulatory framework for artificial intelligence, established by the European Union. It creates a risk-based approach to regulating AI systems, with stricter requirements for higher-risk applications. The regulation aims to ensure AI systems used in the EU are safe, transparent, traceable, non-discriminatory, and environmentally friendly.
- Effective since August 2024, with phased implementation through 2026
- Risk-based classification: minimal, limited, high-risk, and unacceptable risk
- Mandatory transparency requirements for AI systems
- Strict obligations for high-risk AI applications
- Significant penalties for non-compliance (up to 7% of global turnover)
PulseBoard's Risk Classification
PulseBoard's AI features — including sentiment analysis, sick leave prediction, and wellbeing trend detection — are classified under the AI Act's framework. We take a proactive approach to compliance by treating our AI systems with the highest standards of care.
Sentiment Analysis
Our AI analyzes aggregated, anonymized check-in data to detect mood patterns. This is treated with heightened care under our transparency framework.
Sick Leave Prediction
The Job Demand-Control analysis uses AI to predict risk of long-term sick leave. We ensure human oversight at every decision point.
Wellbeing Recommendations
AI-generated suggestions for managers are advisory only. All decisions remain with humans, never automated.
Our Compliance Measures
Transparency
Users are always informed when AI is analyzing their data. Every AI-generated insight is clearly labeled, and we provide full documentation on how our AI models work.
Human Oversight
AI provides suggestions and insights — humans make decisions. No automated decisions are made about employees based on AI analysis. Managers always have the final say.
Data Governance
All data is anonymized by default, encrypted in transit and at rest, and processed in full compliance with GDPR. We maintain strict data retention policies and provide full data portability.
Risk Management
We conduct regular AI audits, bias monitoring, and impact assessments. Our risk management framework is continuously updated to meet evolving regulatory requirements.
Technical Documentation
We maintain comprehensive technical documentation per Article 11 of the AI Act, including model cards, training data documentation, and performance metrics.
Bias Prevention
Our AI models are regularly tested for bias across demographics. We use diverse training data and implement fairness constraints to prevent discriminatory outcomes.
Certifications & Standards
PulseBoard maintains compliance with multiple international standards to ensure the highest levels of data protection and AI governance.
